Holiday Appetizers

Welcome back to a special episode of Cooking Chez Vous! Follow Anna and Elaine as they take on the holidays by creating 2 delicious appetizers – a meat wreath, filled with all your favorite meats, cheeses and dips, and buttery shrimps topped with cherry tomatoes and pomegranates.

These appetizers not only look impressive but they’re so easy to make and they are the perfect dishes to kick off your holiday parties.

Meat Wreath

Meatball Ingredients:


  1. Heat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients. Shape mixture into 1 inch meatballs.
  3. Heat oil in a large pan, fry the meatballs for 2 minutes on each side.
  4. Transfer the meatballs onto a baking sheet and cook in the oven for an additional 10 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  5. When the meatballs are ready, top with additional Parmesan cheese.

Shrimps with Cherry Tomatoes and Pomegranates


  1. Add the shrimps in a large mixing bowl. Add in the olive oil, shichimi togarashi, garlic cloves, white wine, salt and pepper. Mix all together.
  2. Heat 2 tbsp butter and 2 tbsp olive oil in a deep pan. Cook shrimps on low until they turn pink. Add in the cherry tomatoes and cook an additional 2 minutes.
  3. Plate the shrimps and cherry tomatoes and garnish with parsley and pomegranates.
