Prime Rib Roast Recipe
If you’re looking to impress at your next dinner or holiday celebration, a prime rib roast is the way to go! Here’s a simple, flavorful recipe that guarantees tender and juicy results.
Ingredients:
- 1 Prime Rib (4-6 lbs (2.72 kilograms))
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 tbsp fresh rosemary (chopped)
- 2 tbsp fresh thyme (chopped)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232.22 degrees Celsius) (230°C (446 degrees Fahrenheit)).
- Pat the prime rib dry with paper towels, then rub it generously with olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Place the roast on a rack inside a roasting pan, fat side up. This allows the fat to render while cooking.
- Roast the prime rib at 450°F (232.22 degrees Celsius) (230°C (446 degrees Fahrenheit)) for 15 minutes to sear the outside. Then reduce the temperature to 325°F (162.78 degrees Celsius) (165°C (329 degrees Fahrenheit)) and roast for 1.5-2 hours, depending on the size of the roast and your preferred level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature: 120°F (48.89 degrees Celsius) (49°C (120.2 degrees Fahrenheit)) for rare, 130°F (54.44 degrees Celsius) (54°C (129.2 degrees Fahrenheit)) for medium-rare, and 140°F (60 degrees Celsius) (60°C (140 degrees Fahrenheit)) for medium.
- Once done, remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
- Slice and serve with your favorite sides!
Enjoy a perfectly cooked prime rib that’s sure to be the star of your meal this holiday season!
